Jurisdiction

 

  • Represents the Republic of Serbia in the receiving state and the countries it covers on a non-residential basis (New Zealand, Republic of Vanuatu, Republic of Fiji, Republic of Nauru, Kingdom of Tonga, Tuvalu, Independent State of Papua New Guinea, Independent State of Samoa, Republic of Kiribati, Solomon Islands).
  • Protects the interests of the Republic of Serbia, its citizens and legal entities;
  • Participates in negotiations with the government of the receiving state and the governments of the states it covers on a non-residential basis; Promotes and develops relations and cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the receiving state and the countries it covers on a non-residential basis;
  • Reports on internal developments and foreign policy of the receiving state and the state it covers on a non-residential basis;
  • Develops cooperation with emigrants of Serbian origin in the territory of the receiving state and the states it covers on a non-residential basis in order to preserve their national and cultural identity;
  • Performs other tasks in accordance with international law, legal regulations of the Republic of Serbia and directives of the Ministry.

The Embassy performs consular affairs in the receiving state (except for consular affairs that fall under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Sydney) and the states it covers on a non-residential basis.
